I was playing around with it, by clicking on the tabs on the top right, and now it won't draw a line for me anymore, all I can get it to do is race teams across the spreadsheet, which is also fun

Hey Jeff-- is the Trails box checked off at the bottom right? That should do the trick.

Excellent work, Tom! This is really cool. One thing: this chart looks at the season totals. Would it be possible to someday build a chart that looks at, say, the last 15 games' moving average? That way one could see the changes even more clearly. Another question: would it be possible (I don't think you do this) to adjust the efficiency differential by the strength of the opposition somehow? Then again, that may not make sense in this context. Great job!

Hey DSMok1-- To answer your first question, someday yes. That would be a great extension off of this version. We don't calculate adjusted efficiency differential yet so it would take some work to develop a chart from that data. However, it's something I'd be interested in doing. Thanks for the input! Glad you like it.

This is everything I dreamed it would be when you first asked for the data.

Crow           194

Thanks. If you do add moving average I might slightly prefer 10 games over 15. Will display a bit more movement and when something changes the legacy data will drop off quicker.

Crow           195

But now that I think about it more 10 games might be a little too influenced by changes in home / road split, tough / easy opponent schedule stretch so 15 might be better.

With the cumulative season totals it appears a lot of the noise of efficiency differential is dampened out by the end of November.

I have the pleasure to brief on our Data Visualization software "Trend Compass". TC is a new concept in viewing statistics and trends in an animated way by displaying 5 axis (X, Y, Time, Bubble size & Bubble color) instead of just the traditional X and Y axis. It could be used in analysis, research, presentation etc. In the banking sector, we have Deutsche Bank New York as our client. So many ideas are there. You can download a trial version. It has a feature to export EXE,PPS,HTML and AVI files. The most impressive is the AVI since you can record Audio/Video for the charts you create. http://epicsyst.com/trendcompass/FreeVersion/TrendCompassv1.2_DotNet.zip
